Intermediate Handsprings covers the C-level skills in the Handspring category including Normal Handsprings and 1-Leg Handsprings.
When performing handsprings in the basic position, the gymnast begins and ends in a standard, upright position in the wheel. For front-handsprings, the gymnast inverts forward, touches the trail-hand to the ground as the feet go over the head, and completes the flip by landing feet-first in the standard position. For back-handsprings, the gymnast inverts backward, touches the lead-hand to the ground as the feet go over the head, and completes the flip by landing feet-first in the standard position.
